If you’re looking for a dog-friendly Airbnb that sleeps 7 and has a hot tub in Northern Michigan, man, I have the rental for you!

Hidden Acres is a mini cabin community in Petoskey, Michigan, with two gorgeous Scandinavian-style cabins. For your trip, choose from Austur or Vestur (or, hey, rent both!). They are very similar in look, but Vestur sleeps 7 and has a hot tub, while Austur sleeps 8. Owner and host Kyle took some time to tell me about his venture in the hosting world. When deciding what type of cabin to build, he took inspiration from his vast travel experience in addition to adding his own spin. He told me, “We stayed in cabins in Iceland and felt like that’s the feel we wanted. But I also wanted to them feel warm and collected.” He hit the ball out of the park when it came to the finished project. These STRS showcase Scandinavian design with their simplicity, minimalism, and functionality, yet still create a cozy atmosphere with their fireplace, decor, and unique features.

Grant and I stayed at Vestur and had the BEST weekend! First off, not many of the cabins we stay at are dog-friendly, so we get so excited when we were able to bring our Sheltie, Boji, along on a trip. He loves cabin adventures. Then add in the fact the there is a hot tub and consider me transported to cabin nirvana!

I love the exterior of this cabin so much. It really does feel like something you’d see on the hillsides of Iceland. Clean wood and a black roof make a striking contrast as you approach the property. The backyard is where the fun happens. There is a sprawling covered deck perfect for enjoying the outdoor area. Guests can also take advantage of a big fire pit and, of course, the hot tub. With all these fun activities you might think you’d want to stay outside the entire trip, BUT do not sleep on the interior!

Indoors, you’ll be surprised at how spacious the cabin is. There are two bedrooms and two lofts with mattresses, meaning you can sleep seven people. The living room has a big plush couch across from a TV and an electric fireplace. Did I mention there are two bathrooms? What a bonus! A unique aspect of this space is the wood-lined walls. I don’t think I’ve seen walls like this in any other cabin I’ve stayed at, which is saying a lot!

While my trip included Grant and me, this cabin would also be great for families or small friend groups. It was clean and beautiful, and Kyle was great at communicating. I highly recommend booking this one, guys!
