This past weekend I was lucky enough to book a cabin via Glampinghub.com in Onaway, Michigan. I had never been to this area before and quickly realized I was missing out. The cabin is on Black Lake, the 7th largest inland lake in the state. In addition to great water activities, Onaway is covered in state forest. You can find plenty of great hiking spots and it’s only a short drive to Lake Huron.
This cabin is situation on the property of hosts Connie and Andre Nadjarian. The couple is from Rochester, Michigan, but decided years ago they wanted a home Up North. They’ve managed to create a little slice of heaven in Onaway, and I’m so excited to tell you about it!
The cabin is located on a forested plot. It sleeps six and has 1 bathroom. It’s the absolute perfect getaway for a small family or group of friends. While at the cabin you can choose to spend time on the wide front porch, or by large fire pit in front of the cabin. Connie loves wildlife and has added many charming bird feeders around the property. If you’re as lucky as us you may catch a glimpse of a woodpecker or humming bird.
When you first enter the cabin you walk through an open room that contains the living area, dining room, and kitchen combined. Down the hallway you’ll find a first floor bedroom and bathroom. There are many special touches around the cabin, from the nightlights to the decor. You can tell Connie and Andre love this space and have spent a lot of time making it welcoming and cozy.
Upstairs is a loft that houses another bedroom with a bed and futon. I loved this room best and of course had to bring along some string lights for hanging!
As if all this wasn’t reason enough to book, renters also have access to their lakefront property which includes a dock, another fire pit, and kayaks + paddle boats. We had so much fun out of the water I highly recommend using these boats! To reach the lake you walk down a gorgeous flight of stairs and cross the road.
All in all we had a blast this weekend at Connie and Andre’s cabin. We booked this through Glamping Hub which was a seamless process! I loved being able to communicate with Connie prior to booking via Glamping Hub’s messaging system. I felt very at ease and confident with the booking process.
Long story short, if you are looking for an amazing lakeside getaway, book this cabin off Glamping Hub.
