I’ve stayed at over 50 cabins in the last two years, but rarely do I highlight cabins that are both large family and pet friendly. Pentwater Pines Cabin checks both of these boxes and because of this I am sure it will be a hit with all of my followers.
Cabin owners Marissa and Josh DeBruyn are Michigan natives who love to travel. In 2014 they took a leap of faith to quit their jobs and travel the world full time. Over a year’s time they visited 25 countries where they volunteered, joined work exchanges, and visited unique Airbnbs. They learned a lot about hosting during their travels, and by the time they moved back to Michigan to start a family, they knew they wanted to run their own Airbnb. That’s when Pentwater Pines entered their lives.
Pentwater Pines is cabin tucked away into the woods. Through the trees you catch a glimpse of beautiful Bass Lake. The cabin is a short drive away from downtown Pentwater, and it’s also an easy trip to Silver Lake State Park. This is a great home base for many activities in the mid region of Western Michigan.
The outside of the cabin is surrounded by trees. There is a large wrap around deck, and the best part is the hot tub!
Visiting the cabin in winter was an amazing experience. We were able to enjoy a night soak in the hot tub while it snowed! Town is quieter this time of year so you don’t have to deal with summer craziness. We ate a local restaurant called Brown Bear. We also visited the Silver Lake Dunes and had them all to ourselves. What a treat!
The cabin is HUGE! There are 5 bedrooms, 9 beds, and 2.5 baths. When you first enter the cabin, its through the bottom level. On this floor you’ll find 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and the laundry space.
The next level houses two more bedrooms, a nursery, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and dining space. There is an amazing wood stove the guests are allowed to use. We cooked and enjoyed the area as much as we could!
The third level is a loft with 2 more beds and the last bathroom. It’s probably my favorite area of the house. I especially loved the twin size bed nook that hangs over the living room.
Without a doubt this is one of the biggest cabins I’ve stayed in. The many bedrooms and bathrooms make it a great option for large families or groups. The fact that you can pay a small fee and bring your dog makes Pentwater Pines that much better! I highly recommend booking this cabin in any season.
